Brokk is a radio control demolition robot that comes in six sizes from 550 kgs up to 5000 kgs, driven by electric motors (the 330D is a diesel motor), a 3 arm system designed around rock breaking and crushing and is completely radio control.
The benefits of this equipment being electric there is the absence of gas and diesel exhaust fumes allowing for a cleaner environment and reduces workers respiratory problems. The use of electric radio controlled equipment not only eliminates respiratory injuries; it adds productivity by allowing the usage of machines in fumeless areas such as confined spaces, furnaces, kilns, silos, inside buildings and walkways.
With the Brokk being radio control the operator can position themselves for optimal view out of harms way which stops machine and operator sitting on suspended floors or under slabs of concrete or in a hot environment where there is a potential danger such as falling debris, floor collapse, implosions, heat exposure and falls.
Brokk Demolition Robots - The 50, 90, 180, 260, 330D and 400 Models
The extra arm on the Brokk is designed for rock breaking - crushing walls and suspended slabs so the attachment can be pushed into the work to be demolished and not using the tracks or wheels of the machine to do the pushing.
With the Brokk 50 being 600mm wide and the Brokk 90, 180 being 783mm wide this means that these models will fit through the standard door of 800mm. there is not an demolition machine on the market that will fit through a standard door and reach 4.8 metres is height, the three smaller Brokks when fitted with rubber tracks will also climb with ease most stair cases.
Outstanding Brokk Features
- Worker Safety: Radio control, No harmful vibrations, No exhaust emissions, Low noise.
- Productivity: Purpose-built for demolition, Great accessibility, Accurate operation.
- Flexibility: Wide range of attachments, three-part arm with long reach, Climbs stairs and enters regular floor structures.
Applications
Brokks have been used in Australia since 1984 working in the Process industry, mining and construction – demolition.
In the process industry they have been used to take the operator away from the hot areas and of equipment such as excavators where there is a chance off material falling on the operator, the Brokks has also been used to eliminate the use of hand held tools.
In mining the Brokks have been used mainly for cleaning the stopes in narrow vein gold mining, breaking oversize on the grizzlies and tunneling.
In process they have been used to replace the hand held tools and earthmoving machines in confined spaces and also in areas where there is a risk of collapse or engulfment.
Vibration and Noise
The noise and vibration created by the operation of pneumatic – hydraulic hand held tools is far from healthy. After operating hand – held tools all day, most operators experience numbness in their hands and arms along with tired or even hurting backs.
The use of radio controlled equipment eliminated the operators exposure to the vibration as the vibration now is absorbed by the machine. Using radio controlled equipment therefore reduces the risk of short and long term costly injuries due to vibration and noise using traditional pneumatic and hydraulic hand held tools.
